On October 13, H. E. Mr. Hu Yeshun, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China met with some members of the Folkdance Group Svita, Tukums of Latvia, who participated the 12^th Beijing International Tourism Festival.

Ambassador Hu congratulated the Group on its successful performance in China and expressed his gratitudes to the group for the wonderful and unique programmes presented to the Chinese audience, and hoped the Group, as envoy of friendship in the art circles, to make further contributions to the enhancement of the cultural and artistic exchanges between China and Latvia. Ambassador Hu said that Beijing as the Capital of China, the level of its economic and social development is much higher than the middle and west areas of China. He wished that the members of the Group would pay visits to those areas in the future and this may help them to understand China with a complete picture.

The members of the Folkdance Group Svita shared their wonderful experience in Beijing, expressed thanks to the Chinese Embassy in Latvia and the host of the festival for the cooperation and assistances provided to the Group, wished to actively promote exchanges with the relevant cultural departments and artistic troupes in China and explore the possibility of further cooperation. The members of the Group presented their photos taken in Beijing and the several interviews and articles regarding the visit and performances in Beijing by the local media to Ambassador Hu.
