2011-05-11 08:37

On May 10, 2011, Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan met with World Bank President Robert B. Zoellick in Washington. Both sides exchanged views on China-U.S. economic relations, the world economic situation and other issues.

The third round of China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED) yielded a satisfactory outcome, said Wang. The dialogue was important in carrying out bilateral comprehensive economic cooperation, Wang said. He said there was still a great deal of uncertainty about the world's economic recovery. The Group of 20, as a major platform for global economic governance, should give priority to guaranteeing a strong and sustainable global recovery through effective measures, the Chinese leader said.

Hailing the success of the third round of the S&ED, Zoellick said the World Bank was willing to continue supporting China's economic reform and development.
